Erasmus in Zagreb Vol. 2

I had the opportunity to visit the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology (University of Zagreb) for the second time, although this time I was on a study exchange. At the PBF I did some of the elective subjects necessary for my Ph.D. studies in the winter semester of the academic year 2018/19. Since we do not have subjects from enology and wine chemistry at the doctoral programme, I was lucky to be able to pass them in Zagreb. The course load was manageable and for one subject I worked in the laboratory on a topic connected with my thesis instead of following only lectures, thus gaining valuable experience in another field of chemistry. This was an excellent learning experience and I believe that I learned more than I would have been just listening to lectures.  I have become quite familiar with Zagreb and had the opportunity to also visit Christmas fair in December. I can say that Zagreb is even more beautiful in winter time.

I would recommend Erasmus for everyone, be it an internship or study exchange. This is my fourth Erasmus, and every time I gained new experience, knowledge and broaden expertise in my field.  Additionally, Erasmus allowed me to connect with different people from all kinds of backgrounds, and this time in Zagreb I was able to practice and improve my Croatian, especially grammar.
